Paul B. Handy
Administrative Law Judge
 

Judge Handy has served as an Administrative Law Judge in the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings since July of 2004. Judge Handy was a judge for the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings from 1998 to 2004.

 

Judge Handy was in private practice for four years in Damascus, Md., and also served as a panel attorney for the Public Defender. Judge Handy joined the Public Defender’s Office in 1990, first the Mental Health Division and later in Frederick County, Md. He was named Attorney of the Year for both divisions in 1993 and 1997.

 

Judge Handy received a BA degree from Rutgers University in 1981, with a double major in labor studies and sociology. He earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore in January 1986, and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in June 1986. He was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in June 2004.
