N. Denise Wilson-Taylor
Administrative Law Judge
 

N. Denise Wilson-Taylor has served as an Administrative Law Judge in the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings since September 30, 2004. From 1994 to 2004, Judge Wilson-Taylor served as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Department of Employment Services.

 

Judge Wilson-Taylor served as Assistant General Counsel, then Acting General Counsel for the Department of Employment Services until 1991, when Mayor Sharon Pratt Kelly appointed Judge Wilson-Taylor to the position of Deputy Director of Labor Standards for the Department of Employment Services. As Deputy Director, Judge Wilson-Taylor had oversight responsibility for the Office of Hearings and Adjudication, the Office of Wage and Hour, the Victims of Violent Crimes Program, the District of Columbia Disability program and the Workers’ Compensation program.

 

Judge Wilson-Taylor served as secretary to the District of Columbia Bar from 1989-90. In 1989, Judge Wilson-Taylor, along with Oprah Winfrey, was an honoree in the salute to Outstanding Afro-American Business and Professional Women given by the Dollars and Sense Magazine, Chicago. In 1990, Judge Wilson-Taylor received the Outstanding Woman for Community Service in the Metropolitan Area award from the Coalition of 100 Black Women. In 1987, Judge Wilson-Taylor was the recipient of the Criminal Justice Community Award given by the Howard University Urban Institute.

 

Judge Wilson-Taylor is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar, the Pennsylvania Bar, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Judge Wilson-Taylor received a BA from Fisk University and earned a JD from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
